Dr. George Diacoumakos was born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and graduated from Stuyvesant High School. He completed his undergraduate career at New York University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with a dual major in Biology and Classics. Dr. Diacoumakos continued his post-graduate work at NYU and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. Following graduation, he spent 3 years practicing with Dr. Bennett Fidlow in Staten Island, New York. Dr. Diacoumakos then co-established two practices: 5th Avenue Dental Associates with Dr. Glen Cosman and Family Health Dental with Dr. Glen Cosman and Dr. Steven Johnson.
In order to maintain the highest level of professionalism and to keep up with all the latest advances in the field, Dr. Diacoumakos has taken a wide variety of continuing education courses. These include a two-year Implantology in Surgical and Prosthetic Treatment course at New York University, The Maxi Course in Implantology (sponsored by New York University and Brookdale Hospital) and the implant surgery program given by the Misch Institute at the University of Pittsburgh School Of Dentistry. Dr. Diacoumakos has also taken various courses in occlusion, laser dentistry and cadcam dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Society, the Second District Dental Society and the Academy of Osseointegration.
